One thing that really ticks me off more than most, are web developers who spout nonsense about being great at writing code and when you look, some of the work left behind for unsuspecting clients is a sorry mess.

XHTML

I write valid, lean & semantic markup that is search friendly and accessible

CSS

My code is written to make use of advanced CSS 2.1 & 3 rules that will degrade gracefully on older browsers

jQuery

Using a Javascript library allows me to work fast, write lean code and also produce rich interface effects

PHP

I use PHP to create basic dynamic effects, and integrate my code with that of a back-end developer

ExpressionEngine

If a back-end is required on a site I turn to ExpressionEngine to allow users to edit and post content through a simple interface

Wordpress

For smaller sites or for projects that are more suitable I also use Wordpress to allow clients to update their own content, the admin area is particularly user-friendly

Photoshop

My design tool of choice allowing me to create or manipulate existing designs
