A highly motivated and enthusiastic person - with an extensive knowledge covering all major aspects of front-end website development. Over 6 months experience working in a professional web team, maintaining a corporate level website. Strong background in XHTML, CSS, modern web standards, user accessibility, managing user bases, content management systems and an intimate knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Able to use own initiative and work alone or as part of a team under pressure, to meet challenging deadlines / objectives. First class communication and organisational skills with the will and determination needed to succeed.
- Working as a web developer for AKQA, a well known design agency who design and build websites for high level clients. Using best practice XHTML & CSS to design and maintain various ASP powered websites such as Sainsbury's.co.uk.
- Owning, building and solely managing a successful community based website from the ground-up - on the subject matter of level design and game related news. Has been growing and expanding for over three years, receiving over 50,000 page visits and holding 5000+ community forum members - www.interlopers.net is now regarded as one of the top sites in its class.
- Web development for the Association of Accounting Technicians, a large scale website powered by a corporate level Content Management System. Developing several website functions using XML and XSL. Communicating with colleagues regarding new projects, setting expectations and meeting demands within a tight schedule. Also providing support for 150+ colleagues who all use the company website & intranet on a daily basis.
- Being part of and leading a team of three developers on a website rebuild project, including creating workflows and requirement documents for new sections, scheduling meetings to collate information on development processes and working with external developers on best practices for site design & development.
- Attending a course on Agile project management and implementing this methodology on a website rebuild project.
- Building several XHTML & CSS compliant websites for a variety of clients. Working with them to ensure the website meets their requirements but also suggesting and implementing ways to improve user experience and accessibility.

- Studied basic level programming and also networking backgrounds. Used such applications as Pascal, Visual Basic and also Microsoft Access Database. Course was not completed due to my expectations not being met.

Customs & Excise - Government Mainframe Computer Site, 2000
- Spent two weeks shadowing a Grade 9 Shift Leader and received grounding in the Hardware and Software use for VAT and Trade statistics. Also co-wrote a software program that aided in the batch process.
AKQA, Farringdon, London, June 2008 to present
- Currently employed as a front-end web developer working for AKQA who deal with a variety of high profile clients such as Nike, Nokia, Sainsbury's and Sky. This involves working with multiple developers on a single project and using Subversion to control the work flow, using Microsoft development packages such as Visual Studio to build sites running on ASP .NET, using the Agile methodology to handle a project lifecycle & weekly web developer meetings where current technologies and best practices are discussed.
Association of Accounting Technicians, Aldersgate, London, June 2007 to June 2008
- Front-end web developer working in a small team and managing AAT.org.uk - This encompasses many different responsibilities including meeting with department members regarding new projects, collating requirements and supplying a project brief, working with Java developers to ensure users interact with applications effectively, building new pages and applications in the VYRE system, troubleshooting site problems & issues including server faults, working to tight deadlines and managing schedules to ensure projects are delivered to the best standard.

- Customer Service Specialist with responsibilities including liaising with customers and departments on a daily basis, handling escalated issues and calls, assisting colleagues with software applications and billing queries, determining the need for training packages and creating these if necessary and working with Team Managers to ensure the teams work to their best ability.

- A face to face point of contact for customers, sharing my knowledge and also working on a till - managing money and transactions.
- Website Skills: High levels of knowledge with XHTML 1.0 & CSS 2.0, experience with PHP, XML, XSL & JavaScript. Understanding of modern web standards that conform to W3C specifications, user interaction - including usability & accessibility considerations. Working with Apache webserver and also managing a dedicated Linux server using cPanel & WHM.
- Application Skills: Extensive knowledge of common IT applications such as Windows XP, Internet Explorer, FireFox, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Time Management: Experienced in working as a team on projects or alone as a freelance developer. Able to communicate with a client regarding what is involved in a project and producing a design brief showing an approximate timeline of development.
