Crazy week, de-construct and DuctTape

I haven’t been able to post recently due to the reason I’ve been having some looong days. Travelling to the other side of London can take its toll.

I’ve been back at SAS Design this week for some more front-end work, which consisted of creating HTML email for Outlook 2007 on one of the days. If you can help it never, ever do this. It’s like writing code for IE4. Yuck.

I’m done there for the week and tomorrow I’m heading off to another popular agency known as de-construct. It’s been a bit out of my comfort zone popping all over London and into big agencies but I think I’ve got too used to working remotely recently! I’m excited though as you get to work on some cool stuff in these places.

As well as all that I’ve been working on a side project for some friends at Interlopers. Basically they’re building some awesome software called DuctTape and I offered to design and build a website for them.

I’ve had immense fun on this project (even squeezing it in on the train journeys to London) as it’s allowed me to flex my various skills. Chucking in some PHP, Ajax and jQuery has been very satisfying and the design has really worked out well. Best of all though, has been dropping IE6 support entirely!

If you ever get a chance to do that, then by all means go for it. Writing CSS with the more advanced selectors is like enjoying a new language again and I cannot wait for it to be more commonplace.

You can preview the site, but don’t tell anyone.

Right, gotta shoot as I’ll die of tiredness soon but expect a tutorial or two at the weekend.
