Yahoo presentation on Frontend development

Nate Koeachley delivers a brilliant ninety minute presentation on all aspects of Front end work that we should all be using, unless you already are. However, it’s still worth the time even if you follow the techniques employed.

I’ve just finished watching the presentation and although I find myself using 90% of the techniques discussed I still think it was well worth watching, just to get an idea how one of the biggest websites use the tools that we all sometimes struggle with.

What was particularly interesting was the piece on proper semantic use of HTML. So many developers still don’t get this concept and I think Nate covered it perfectly (although I’m not sure I agree with the div-ed module approach) and if you’re serious about taking web development professionally then watch this video.

Nate Koechley: "Professional Frontend Engineering" @ Yahoo! Video

Yes it’s lengthy, but it stays away from in-depth techy stuff and is very watchable.
